Greetings!

As we continue to count down the days until Christmas, there’s one more stop to look forward to on the OASIS 2015 journey— our Christmas Celebration on Wednesday December 16th!

Tonight we will have our annual OASIS Christmas Celebration. This event is open to all OASIS participants and their children. NOTE: We encourage participants with children to bring their little ones; however, we will not be able to provide rides to or from OASIS. We ask that volunteers not transport small children and that participants make arrangements for their own rides. This is the season of giving and cheer and in respects to the loving attitude that couples the holidays we want to make sure that everyone remains safe!

Please join us tonight as we play together, hand out gifts to our youth, sing Christmas favorites, light up OASIS with candles, and ultimately remember the birth of our Lord for whom we have a reason to spread cheer and blessings!

See you all tonight!

Greetings to all!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend filled with friends and family and loved ones! I, personally, spent my Thanksgiving in Nashville visiting some of my closest friends. It was a time filled with sharing memories over meals, filling days with play and companionship, and being present with one another. It’s a wonderful thing, the bond we share with close friends and family, that even when you spend the majority of the year apart you can always pick up right where you left off. It’s a level of intimacy I wouldn’t trade for the world.

As we enter into this season of Advent and anticipation of the arrival of our Lord, let it be an anticipation that is namely in ceremony. For we do not have to wait for Christ to arrive because he is already with us, among us, and a part of us.

We spent the month of November focusing on being grateful in every circumstance. We learned that we can find hope in times of grief, we can be light bearers in times of fortune, and we can gain rest in times of stillness. Once we fully comprehend that we take the love and light of Christ with us wherever we go and in every circumstance we face, it isn’t a matter of waiting for Christ to show up, but finding peace in the realization that he has always been with us. It is an impenetrable bond that we share with our creator. So as we celebrate Jesus’ birth and his arrival in the earth let it not be a motion of picking up from time spent apart, but celebrating a thriving life in which Christ is continually a part.

This Wednesday we will meet at our usual times. Doors opening at 3:30, dinner at 5:15, and the experience to follow. Come hang out with us as we welcome back Dominic the donkey for another year of seasonal enjoyment and prepare our hearts and minds for the greatest gift ever given to mankind.

Dec. 9 will be our Family Christmas Celebration. Youth will have the opportunity to pick out gifts for their families and have them wrapped. We will definitely be in need of help with wrapping gifts and having your general presence during the event.

Dec. 16 is our OASIS Christmas Party. Please join us as we celebrate Christmas with our OASIS family. This night will be open to all Youth participants and participants with children are invited to bring their young ones to be a part of the festivities. Staff will not be able to provide rides to or from the event so anyone with children will need to make their own arrangements for transportation.

December will fly by before you know it. Don’t miss out on the excitement. See you Wednesday!
