Oasis creates space for Akron kids to grow through play, connection, and friendship. Our after-school program is completely free for the families we serve, funded by people like you.
After School Oasis
After School Oasis is our free after-school program for elementary students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Four afternoons a week, kids get homework help, a snack, and time to play and create, currently at Our Lady of the Elms Elementary School in Akron.
Families pay nothing. Donors are the reason.
Every seat at After School Oasis is free for the family in it. Staffing, snacks, and activity supplies are covered by donations. Sponsoring a child costs $100 a month.
22.6 million children can’t access the afterschool care their parents want
Across the country, 22.6 million children whose parents want an afterschool program cannot access one, and cost is the barrier families name most. That is why After School Oasis is free for every family.

A small team with deep roots in Akron
Oasis is led by James Wright, Executive Director, who has served Oasis since 2011, and Courtney Wright, Community Outreach Director. A volunteer board of directors guides the organization.
